Episode 53 - David Cutton, How Sports Psychology is Discovering the Church Fathers
Dr David Cutton is a professor in the Department of Health and Kenesiology at Texas A&M University, Kingsville. His specialism is sports psychology which has applications not only in helping professional athletes perform better but also in helping many others to motivated to do what is necessary for rehabilitation.
David is a Catholic and he describes how he started to notice that developments in the field seem to be so far advanced now, that they are almost catching up with the psychology of Church Fathers such as Augustine and Aquinas!
The book he mentions is Charles Fernyhough, The Voices Within: The History and Science of How We Talk to Ourselves (New York: Teachers College Press, 2016).
